One of the larger gouramies, this species has a very peaceful nature and is a very good community fish. Both sexes are virtually identical with a lovely moonlight sheen; mature males have red "feelers" and become slightly more colourful. It is not fussy about water conditions and readily eats most fish foods. Maximum size is about 15cm.
