Named after a famous boxer, the Jack Dempsey has long been one of the more popular Central American Cichlids. Mature fish are very attractive with numerous blue-green spangles over their body and fins. Can be aggressive, so best kept with similar sized hardy types, with a few hiding places. Quite hardy and breeds readily. Grows to 16-20cm.
